Ingredients

  • 1 lb. chicken breast tenders
  • 1 lb. pasta
  • 1 jar Alfredo sauce
  • 1 cup Parmesan cheese shredded
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.
  • Add the cavatappi pasta and cook until al dente according to package directions, about 8-10 minutes. Reserve 1/2 cup of the cooking water, then drain the pasta well. Set aside.
  • Meanwhile, cut the chicken breast tenders into bite-size pieces.
  • Place a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the oil.
  • Add the chicken to the skillet and season it with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Cook until the chicken is golden brown.
  • When the chicken is cooked, add the alfredo sauce and stir well. Add a little bit of water to the jar, twist the cap back on, and shake the jar gently to ensure all the sauce is collected. Add that to the skillet as well and stir well.
  • Turn the heat to medium-low and cook the sauce until it thickens a bit. Then add your shredded cheese and the drained pasta. Add some of the reserved pasta water now. It helps the sauce stick to the pasta better and also helps in making the sauce even creamer.
  • Garnish with some parsley and more shredded cheese, plate, and enjoy!
